The Engagement Internship at Brown RISD Hillel works to engage the Brown University student community with the topic of identity, and during the 2014-2015 academic year, Becky Cooper's Mapping Manhattan project seemed to be a great, interactive project to bring to Brown.
Instead of a map of Rhode Island or even Providence, the participants are given a blank, bare map of the Brown University campus and asked to make the map a reflection of who they are at Brown.
With limited instruction but a great deal of coloring supplies, students are able to reminisce on who they have become at Brown, why, and what brought them to that point.
